McDonalds - Coming Home Advert


How does it catch your attention?
This advert catches your attention because it is a very wholesome advert, along with having a nice soundtrack. It shows a man working as a lorry driver, waiting to come home to see his partner. It captures your attention because it includes very nice cinematography and has a story to it. This story makes the audience want to watch more, as it shows the man facetiming his partner and looking at pictures of her, which makes the audience want to see if he will get home.

What is the adverts key message?
The adverts key message is McDonald's new 'My McDonalds Rewards' scheme which allows you to get rewards and discounts when you gain a certain number of points by purchasing items from Mcdonalds. The advert shows the man purchase items from McDonalds on his way home, gathering points.

Who is the adverts target audience?
The adverts target audience is people who are on the road a lot, it shows that McDonalds is easy to access whilst driving, and that it is cheap and good food.

How can this advert be made to appeal to younger audiences?
- The advert could be made for fast-paced, younger audiences tend to prefer adverts which are very quick and grab your attention quickly. This is because many younger audiences spend a lot of time scrolling through social media, and to grab their attention you need something vibrant and fast.
- The advert could also include different visual elements, such as brighter colours, different editing techniques and effects, such as more close-ups, more slow-motions, more camera movement and quicker cuts in between shots.
- The music could be changed to appeal to younger audiences. Successful adverts include songs which are popular on the charts at the moment such as rap and hip-hop songs. This appeals to younger audiences as it is the type of music lots listen to.
- Finally, the target audience shown in the advert is clearly parents or women, with their own houses and children, as you see a lady cleaning up after what is supposedly her child. This could be changed to younger people cleaning their rooms or their apartments or cleaning up after pets or parties.
- Diversity could also be included, for example people of colour or members of the LGBTQ+ community, along with theses, celebrities may also appeal more to younger audiences, such as music artists.


Celebrity Endorsement.

Did Somebody Say - Just Eat ft. Snoop Dogg


This advert is an example of a celebrity endorsing a product via a video advert. In this case, the video advert shows the famous rapper Snoop Dogg endorsing the takeout service Just Eat.

Why was Snoop Dogg chosen for this advert?
I believe Snoop Dogg was chosen for this advert because he is a very random celebrity to include in an advert like this, it creates a very memorable and unique advert as everyone will remember the catchy rhyme for Just eat and the iconic celebrity Snoop Dogg. Snoop would've also been chosen because he is a rapper and Just Eat has a little tune 'did somebody say just eat' as a catchphrase, meaning that Snoop could rap to this tune.

What was the aim of this Just Eat advert?
By watching the advert, you can tell that the aim is to get people to use the just eat service to buy takeout food. Pretty much everyone gets a few takeaways in their lifetime and this advert is trying to promote that when you order it you should order it with Just Eat. 

Was this Just Eat advert effective with its use of Snoop Dogg?
I believe that this advert was effective with its use of Snoop because he is one of the most famous celebrities of all time, he is probably one of the most if not the most famous rapper of all time, and to have such a big and influential celebrity in their advert really reaches a large target audience, spreading their product to lots of the population.


Testing Out Shark Tank Beauty Products - James Charles


This advert is an example of a social media influencer endorsing a product. In this case, the video shows a YouTuber and make-up artist, James Charles, endorsing famous TV show Shark Tank and the products endorsed on that.

Why was James Charles chosen for this advert?
I believe James Charles was chosen for this advert because he is a famous makeup and beauty influence. With the many makeup and beauty products included in this show, it allows other makeup and beauty product producers to reach a larger number of possible consumers. 

What was the aim of this Shark Tank advert?
To promote the show as James Charles also talks to one of the Sharks on the actual set, it helps them to reach a larger audience and also promote the products advertised on the show.

Was this Shark Tank advert effective with its use of James Charles?
I believe that this advert was effective with its use of James Charles because he is one of the most influential makeup and beauty influencers and is known by a large proportion of the younger generations. It allows Shark tank to reach a younger audience and grow a larger overall audience.
