Response To Brief

Rebel Records is an independent record company that hosts a music festival every February called MUSIC VIDEO VAMP. On the weekend of the festival, never-before seen music videos are screened to a large audience whilst also being streamed in a free online worldwide show.

Rebel Records have asked me to create a music video which will be screened to music lovers at a festival whilst also being simultaneously streamed online. The video content of the video must not exceed a BBFC rating of 12A and cannot have a previously existing music video; however, there can be a lyric video and/or live performance of the song. To make sure the content of the video does not exceed a BBFC rating of 12 A, I will will research what content makes different rating and stick to 12A and under. The song can be from any genre, any era, and from any artist. the song can be from an established band or a local band. The length of the video must be at least the full duration of the song but can be longer, with a minimum 70% of original content which can be either filmed footage or graphics; if I choose to source footage it must be copyright/royalty free and must be referenced. The video content can be narrative, concept, performance or a mix of styles. It must be suitable and appeal to the music's target audience and the video must take into consideration the conventions of the genre. I must also make sure the video complies with all relevant legislation/regulations - I will do this by researching the legislations/regulations and making sure i follow them. The final master video must be exported as HD (1080) and 25 fps with two versions: a full HD master version (video codec: Apple ProRes if on FCPX) and a compressed mp4 (video codec: H264) version for YouTube. Finally, an early version of the video must be submitted by the 17th of December 2021 to receive feedback and both final master videos must be delivered to Rebel Records by the 28th January 2022.
