P1 - Response To Brief

BBC3 has me to plan ideas for an episode of a TV drama aimed at 16-21 year olds for a low budget and to then pitch the idea to them. To do so I need to conduct some research into the channel and the general genres on the channel and their target audience, develop a few ideas, come up with the idea to create a proposal and documentation for my ideas and then plan and pitch my idea to my client. I must showcase my idea in the planning, production and post-production stages. I can include photographs, audio commentary or use written notes to show my progression and development of my product.

The BBC is a public service broadcaster. It was founded in 1922 and is now the world's leading broadcaster, and works in radio, magazines, television, websites and even games. The BBC also sells its television programmes to other broadcasting companies around the world.

BBC3 was a 'British free-to-air television channel' on the BBC which was founded in 2003. Its purpose was provide TV to younger audiences to get younger people to watch more TV instead of using tablets and phones and other methods to watch programmes. The target audience is between 16-34 years old. However, in 2015 the channel went digital and off-air due to budget cuts. Recently, they have made the decision to go back on air.

BBC3 includes many genres aimed at 16-34 year olds such as comedies, documentaries and true crime and dramas. The majority of programmes you will see are grippy, gritty realism shows based on true events.
